On Monday, Switzerland's international, and goalkeeper Yann Sommer announced his retirement from international football.
The 35-year-old won 94 caps with Switzerland and played in two FIFA World Cup tournaments, at Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022.
He was also part of the Swiss squad at Brazil 2014 as a substitute.
He was voted Switzerland’s player of the year in 2016, 2018 and 2021.
Sommer announced the news on social media, saying: "It was a great honour and privilege to represent my country at the highest level for 12 years in 94 international matches. With the conclusion of another great European Championship in our neighbouring country, Germany, where I previously spent unforgettable years in the Bundesliga, the moment has now come to say goodbye.”
Sommer made his Switzerland debut in May 2012 in a friendly match against Romania.
He helped Switzerland reach the Round of 16 at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
The game against England in the latest Euro in Germany was his last international appearance.
