A parliamentary committee in Switzerland has greenlit a significant aid package for Ukraine, totaling £4.4 billion.

This decision comes as part of a series of measures undertaken by Switzerland to enhance its domestic security.

According to a report by British news channel Sky News, the committee also approved an additional £8.8 billion for the Swiss army.

The parliament stated that the funding is aimed at ensuring Switzerland's security and peace in Europe.

The funds allocated for Ukraine are intended to support reconstruction efforts in the war-torn nation.

Switzerland is set to host an international conference in the coming weeks to discuss strategies for achieving peace in Ukraine.

This move by Switzerland underscores the international community's commitment to supporting Ukraine in its efforts to rebuild and stabilize following years of conflict.

It also highlights Switzerland's role as a key player in promoting peace and security in Europe.
