On Friday, South Africa's Sundowns advanced to the CAF Champions League Semi-Finals after defeating the Tanzanians Young Africans by penalties 3-2 after the game's both legs ended with a goalless draw.

The game witnessed a controversial incident as the VAR rejected counting a correct goal for Young Africans. This rejection storms a rise in questioning the performance of referees in the CAF Competitions.

The South African team are expected to face the winners from ASEC, and Espérance Sportive de Tunis whose first leg ended with a 0-0 draw.

Last November, South African team Sundowns won the first edition of the African Football League (AFL) after defeating Wydad de Casablanca 2-0 in the second leg of the AFL final last November.
