Tottenham Hotspur suffered another damaging defeat on Sunday, losing 1-0 away to Sunderland in Premier League Round 32, as their disastrous 2026 campaign continued to unravel.
The result extends Tottenham’s winless run in the Premier League this year, marking a historic low for the club.
The London side are now without a league victory in 14 consecutive matches, recording nine defeats and five draws during that stretch, their worst-ever run in top-flight history.
The match also marked a difficult debut for new head coach Roberto De Zerbi, who was unable to inspire an immediate turnaround as Spurs once again fell short in a tight contest decided by a single goal.
With the defeat, Tottenham remain stuck on 30 points and sit 18th in the Premier League table, placing them firmly in the relegation battle with only a handful of matches remaining. Sunderland, meanwhile, climbed to 46 points and continue a steady mid-table campaign.
Tottenham now face a crucial run-in, with remaining fixtures against Brighton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aston Villa, Leeds United, Chelsea, and Everton. The schedule leaves little margin for error as the club fights to avoid relegation.
The season has developed into one of Tottenham’s most difficult in recent memory. Alongside their league struggles, they have already been eliminated from the Champions League, the League Cup, and the FA Cup, while also losing the UEFA Super Cup, underlining a year of widespread failure across all competitions.
