The National Research Institute for Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) announced that Summer will kick off this Tuesday, 21-June.

The beginning of Summer is linked to the fall of the June solstice and it happens when the rays of the sun fall directly and horizontally on the Tropic of Cancer instead of the celestial equator.

According to the NRIAG studies, Summer will be the second-longest season as it will last for 92 days, 17 hours, and 40 minutes.

In addition, Fall will start on September 23 and will last for 93 days, 15 hours, and 50 minutes, while Winter will begin on December 21, and it will last for 89 days, 20 hours, and 44 minutes.

In the same context, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts hot weather to prevail in Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the East Coast, during daylight hours on Saturday.

Moderately hot weather is expected to hit the West Coast, while South Sinai and the south of the country will experience scorching conditions.

Furthermore, the country will witness mist on roads leading to Cairo, Lower Egypt, North Coast, the Canal cities, and central Sinai.

Wind will occur occasionally in most parts of Egypt.

Moderate weather is also predicted to prevail across the country, at night.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 34°C in Cairo, 29°C in Alexandria, 27°C in Marsa Matruh, 37°C in Sohag, 38°C in Qena, and 40°C in Aswan.
