Today, Rabi al-Akhir 26, 1446, Sufism celebrates the birth of Imam Al-Hussein, the great grandson of the Prophet Muhammad.

Celebrations are held on the occasion of the anniversary of the transfer of the head of Imam Hussein from the city of Ashkelon to Cairo.

Celebrations of Al-Hussein in Cairo are distinguished by the diversity of their manifestations and activities, and the provision of food to visitors.

Imam Al-Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib is one of the most prominent figures in Islamic history. He is known as Al-Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib bin Abdul Muttalib bin Hashim Al-Qurashi Al-Hashemi. He was born on the third of Shaban in the year four of the Hijra.
