Suez Canal Revenues Rise More than 20% to $563 Million 

The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) announced that revenues grew in August 2021 by 20.3%, to record $562.7 million, compared to $467.8 million in revenues in the same month for the year 2020.

According to the authority's statistics issued on Friday, the number of ships transiting the waterway during August 2021 increased by 24.6%, year-on-year.

"1,884 ships crossed the waterway during August 2021, compared to 1,512 ships during the same month in 2020."

The authority indicated that the total tonnage of transiting ships increased to 110.2 million tons during August from 95.1 million tons in August 2020, an increase of 15.9%.
