Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) conducted an extensive inspection tour of several facilities in Suez Governorate. His visit focused on operational developments at the Suez Shipyard and improvements to medical services at the SCA's healthcare facilities.

The tour began at the Suez Shipyard Company, where Rabie reviewed ongoing maintenance and repair activities for the vessels SEA LADY and KRITI VII, both undergoing repairs in the dry dock, with work expected to be completed by the end of this month.

The company’s dry dock, measuring 140 meters long and 20 meters wide, is designed to handle medium-sized vessels with a capacity of up to 8,000 tons. It is equipped with two side cranes (10-ton and 15-ton lifting capacity).

Additionally, Rabie inspected the mechanical slipway, which accommodates the simultaneous maintenance of up to five vessels. Three of the SCA's marine units are currently being repaired here.

Hazem Farghaly, Chairman of the Suez Shipyard provided a detailed briefing on the repair work being carried out on the 55,000-ton floating dock, including the near-completion of maintenance on the vessel "Al-Hurriya". Other vessels under repair include the "Saif Al-Khaleej" (Saudi flag) and "GOODAL" (Singaporean flag).

Rabie emphasized the importance of adhering to the agreed-upon timelines and maintaining high-quality standards to ensure client trust and satisfaction. He also reviewed the proposed development plans for the shipyard, which were presented by Eng. Ashraf Anwar, Director of the SCA's Company Department, and Maj. Gen. Osama Fathi, the SCA’s Advisor for Shipyard Development.

He highlighted the necessity of conducting a thorough study of the proposed development plans, urging for the optimal use of the shipyard's resources to stay competitive in the market and meet future demands.

Throughout his visit, Rabie made a point of engaging with the company’s workers and engineers. He praised their dedication and contributions to the company’s progress, encouraging them to continue their hard work and professionalism. He also urged them to remain focused on their tasks and to ignore rumors and misinformation that could undermine the Authority's development plans.

Following the shipyard visit, Admiral Rabie turned his attention to the Suez Canal Authority Hospital in Port Tawfiq, where he inspected medical services offered to employees and their families. The tour included visits to the emergency department, outpatient clinics, and the ICU, as well as the dialysis unit.
