Sudan’s Ambassador to the League of Arab States, Lt. Gen. Emad Eddin Mustafa Adawi, met with Ambassador Mohannad Saleh Lajouzi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Director-General of the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries (AFTAC), to discuss enhanced Arab-African cooperation and support for Sudanese professionals.

The meeting, held at the newly inaugurated Sudanese Embassy in New Cairo, focused on arrangements for an upcoming training course for Sudanese diplomats residing in Egypt. The initiative is being organized by AFTAC and will take place at the League’s General Secretariat headquarters under the supervision of Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

Ambassador Adawi welcomed the initiative, describing it as a critical step toward building institutional capacity within Sudan’s diplomatic corps. He praised AFTAC’s ongoing role in technical training, noting previous successful programs that benefited Sudanese medical students, and commended the League’s consistent support for Sudan, including high-level visits and educational contributions by the Arab Academy for Science and Technology.

Both sides also discussed future initiatives, including plans to offer small-business training for displaced Sudanese women and a potential diplomatic training course in Khartoum, contingent on conditions stabilizing in the country.

The visit reflects AFTAC’s broader mission to strengthen ties between the Arab world and African nations through capacity-building and technical cooperation.
