Sudan’s Al Hilal secured their spot in the CAF Champions League group stage after a well-deserved 3–1 victory over Kenya’s Police FC in the second-leg match held Friday evening in Benghazi, Libya, as part of the tournament’s second preliminary round.

Al Hilal had previously won the first leg 1–0 in Nairobi, Kenya, sealing their qualification with a 4–1 aggregate score.

In Friday’s return leg, Nigerian striker Sami Adetunji opened the scoring for Al Hilal in the 37th minute, before Kenyan player Zakayo E. equalized in the 53rd minute.

Al Hilal quickly regained the lead through another goal by Adetunji in the 64th minute, and Abdelraouf Salem completed the 3–1 victory with a stoppage-time goal in the 90+11 minute.

With this result, Al Hilal became the first club to officially qualify for the group stage of the current CAF Champions League edition, awaiting the group draw scheduled for the end of October.
