Sudanese Prime Minister (PM) Abdullah Hamdouk reiterated his country's rejection of any unilateral acts regarding the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) issue.

In his word before United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Hamdouk stressed Sudan's readiness to take part in any initiative that would lead to a peaceful solution to GERD Crisis.

Moreover, he noted that Sudan believes in good neighborly relations.

Last week, Egypt, Sudan welcomed the presidential statement issued today by the Security Council urging Egypt, Ethiopia, and Sudan to resume negotiations on the GERD.

This comes within the framework of the negotiating track led by the President of the African Union, with a view to drafting a binding legal agreement on the filling and operating of the Renaissance Dam.
