The Sudanese Minister of Information, Faisal Mohamed Saleh, said on Tuesday that Ethiopia's claims that their forces had entered its territory were untrue.

Addis Ababa said, on Tuesday, that it "monitored the Sudanese army's movements within the Ethiopian borders."

In statements to "Bloomberg Al Sharq", Saleh indicated that "the army is responding decisively to the Ethiopian aggression inside his state's borders, after the Joint Border Committee failed to make any progress," stressing that "Khartoum always supports a peaceful solution."

He pointed out that the authorities are looking to place border markers, and not to an agreement on demarcation, stressing that "the borders with Ethiopia are internationally agreed, and there is no dispute over them."
