"What we know now is that she had, in fact, summoned an Uber ride and was waiting for it to arrive," Columbia Police Chief W.H. Holbrook said to the press, adding that it is believed she mistaken that car with her Uber ride.

A 24 years old Nathaniel David Rowland was hunted down by the police on charges of kidnapping and murder of Josephson and is currently being held in Columbia jail.

After a high-speed police chase of a man high on drugs, Rowland's vehicle was stopped with blood found on the side and in the trunk matching to that of Josephson's.

Officers are currently questioning a female companion found in the suspect's vehicle during his arrest, however, police said she does not face any charges at the moment. Along with liquid bleach and cleaning materials, the student's cell phone was found in the passenger's seat, police said.

After inspecting the vehicle, child safety locks were found                         activated, making it impossible for Josephson to open the  doors from inside.
