The San Antonio Spurs secured their place in the 2026 NBA Finals after defeating the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder 111-103 in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals on Saturday night in Oklahoma City.

Led by Victor Wembanyama, who scored 22 points, the Spurs completed a remarkable road victory to clinch the series and dethrone the reigning champions. Julian Champagnie added 20 points, including 18 from beyond the arc, while Stephon Castle contributed 16 points. De'Aaron Fox finished with 15 points, and both Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell scored 11 points each.

The victory sends San Antonio to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2014, when the franchise captured its fifth championship. The Spurs will now face the New York Knicks in Game 1 of the Finals on Wednesday night.

Oklahoma City's challenge was led by league star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who recorded 35 points and nine assists. Cason Wallace added 17 points, while Jared McCain and Alex Caruso scored 12 points apiece. The Thunder were also hampered by the absence of Jalen Williams, who missed the game with a hamstring injury.

A key moment came midway through the fourth quarter when Spurs center Luke Kornet delivered a crucial block on Isaiah Hartenstein, denying a fast-break basket that could have cut the deficit to four points. The defensive play helped San Antonio maintain control during the closing stages.

The win continues an impressive season for the Spurs, who won eight of their 12 meetings against the Thunder across the regular season and playoffs. San Antonio now moves four victories away from securing its first NBA championship in more than a decade.
