Egypt's Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi assured to Mamdouh El Sebeai "Big Ramy" his pride and appreciation for the great achievement that the Egyptian bodybuilder had achieved.
Sobhi explained that Big Ramy's achievement is a continuation of the series of great achievements by Egyptian sportsmen in all Arab, continental and international tournaments in various games.
This was during an international press conference held under the Great Pyramids of Giza, in coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Bodybuilding Federation and the player's sponsor.
During the ceremony, Sobhi congratulated the Egyptian champion Big Ramy on winning the Mr. Olympia 2020 title, praising the hero’s determination and ability to be crowned the championship, after recovering from his corona infection, setting an example of determination, challenge and ability to achieve.
The Sports Minister said: "Egypt has lived an amazing night, and all young people look up to Big Ramy, and this sports hero completes the image of the hero who loves his country and projects an excellent image of Egypt,"
Sobhi also referred to the full support provided by the Egyptian state under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to all athletes, and to motivate them to continue their achievements and provide their best performance that presents Egyptian sports in all tournaments.
On his part, Big Ramy emphasized the value of success in human life, and saluted the great Egyptian people, especially his supporters who backed him up through his tough journey .
Ramy talked also about his historical achievement, its backstage secrets and all the details of preparing for it before traveling to America.
He also talked about his Corona virus infection before the tournament and how he challenged those circumstances, then preparing for the tournament and traveling to America along with other important details in his success story.
