For folks in their late 20s and early 30s who were among the first "SpongeBob" viewers, the cartoon series earned a dedicated following by treating the kids who watched it as adults.
Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy) and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) are all expected to make an appearance.
A SpongeBob Squarepants spin-off is currently developing and there's a game show in the works based entirely on the animation.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Viacom Digital Studios will debut the 'SpongeBob Smarty Pants Game' show on Facebook and Youtube. It will feature two super fans competing to win the Golden Pineapple.
The new episodes being shown include SpongeBob’s personality changes after closing the gap between his front teeth, as well as one in which he becomes the boss for the day at the Krusty Krab.
