Demands have increased to prevent smoking in the streets in Europe due to the new Corona variant, and the Spanish association Nofumadores.org asked the Spanish government to be serious about not allowing smoking in the streets and stands because the new variant of the pandemic is contagious by up to 70%.

The Spanish newspaper "20 Minotos" indicated that the organization confirmed in a press release that a distance of two meters in restaurants and sidewalks had not been met, so it appealed to the ban "when a personal distance of at least 10 meters cannot be respected."

The association called for an extension of the ban on smoking in the street and expressed its regret that at this time smokers were given "safe behavior" to carry out "dangerous" activity when the rest of the population was required to use a mask.

The head of the organization, Raquel Fernandez, warned that aerosols from e-cigarettes are also in the limelight and "various investigations indicate that the risk of infection in up to 500% higher."

The concern is dominating Europe about the new British variants of the virus, along with increased social activity due to the Christmas celebrations.

The British variant has already reached Chile and is spreading in several countries, including Finland (one of the European countries with the lowest incidence of COVID-19 virus), Germany, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Spain, France, Denmark, and others.

The variant was discovered on December 20 in the United Kingdom, although it is believed to have already existed in September. Belgium, which discovered the variant, is considering modifying its vaccination strategy so that the first dose is given to more people.

The second will be left for future.

The British alternative means that hospitals in the southeast of England are under increasing pressure due to the sharp increase in cases of COVID-19 virus, due to the rapid spread of the new strain of the Coronavirus.
