Spain plans to send a substantial military aid package to Ukraine, valued at €1.13 billion ($1.23 billion), including Patriot missiles and Leopard tanks.

This decision aligns with the support measures announced last month, according to Spanish newspaper El País.

The package will consist of 12 Patriot anti-aircraft missiles and 19 German-made Leopard 2A4 tanks, along with various Spanish-made weapons, including anti-drone equipment and ammunition. The aid aims to bolster Ukraine's defenses amid ongoing conflicts.

The new weapons package will be officially announced during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Madrid on Monday.

Zelensky is scheduled to meet with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and King Felipe during this visit.

The Spanish government approved the aid's value last month but had not specified the types of weapons included until now. Representatives for Sánchez declined to comment on the El País report.

This military aid package demonstrates Spain's commitment to supporting Ukraine in its ongoing struggle, contributing significantly to the international efforts aimed at fortifying Ukraine's defense capabilities.
