Spain's national team camp has officially begun in preparation for their UEFA Nations League quarterfinal clash against the Netherlands, with some last-minute squad adjustments due to injuries.
Dean Huijsen has been called up to replace the injured Iñigo Martínez, joining Raúl Asencio in the squad.
Meanwhile, the team are still waiting for the arrival of Álex García, who will replace Marc Casadó following his knee injury.
Expressing his excitement about the call-up, Huijsen said: "I woke up today expecting to join the U-21 squad, but suddenly I received the news of my selection for the senior team. It’s a great honor for me."
Huijsen, a Bournemouth defender, and Asencio, a Real Madrid player, are among the most notable new names in the squad.
Asencio, in particular, made a direct leap to the senior team without passing through the youth ranks.
Several key players have also returned after missing previous matches, including Unai Simón, Robin Le Normand, Ferran Torres, and Álex García, who joined the camp after Casadó’s injury was confirmed.
Spain will continue their title defense campaign against the Netherlands on Thursday, March 20, in the UEFA Nations League quarterfinals.
