South Korea Seeks Boosting Energy Projects in Egypt

On Sunday, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met with the head of the South Korean National Assembly Speaker, Park Byeong-seug, in which the Egyptian President expressed Egypt’s aspiration to activate their mutual comprehensive cooperative partnership with the Asian country, according to the Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Radi.

During their meeting, Egypt’s President conveyed his regards to the leader of South Korea Moon Jae-in expressing his pride in the respect voiced by the Koreans for Egypt administration and its importance in strengthening bilateral relations, stability, and development in the two countries as well as the appreciation for the recent successes may have been witnessed in their relations and have been expanded throughout the past few years.

They also underscored the need to develop relations between the two countries, and to create mechanisms that would enhance that process.

According to a statement released by the Presidency Spokesperson, the Korean high-ranked official affirmed: "We support all sincere efforts aimed at the flourishing and strengthening economic ties between Egypt and South Korea in accordance with Egypt's comprehensive vision of 2030 under the auspices of Egypt’s President."

Also in this regard, he revealed that Korea attached considerable importance to boosting its investment in Egypt, particularly in the energy sector.

On his part, Park emphasized South Korea’s interest in deepening fruitful relations in light of the development boom that Egypt is witnessing under the leadership of El-Sisi, in addition to the vital and pivotal Egyptian role in the region as a liaison between Africa, Europe, and Asia.

It's worth mentioning that their fruitful meeting was attended by Egyptian Minister of Defense Mohamed Zaki and Ambassador of South Korea in Cairo Hong Jin-Wook.
