Son Heung-Min's Red Card Overturned By FA

The Football Association in England has cancelled on Tuesday Son Heung-min's red card for his tackle which caused a horrific injury to Everton's Andre Gomes.

According to a decision made by an independent Regulatory Commission, Son Heung-min's red card has been overturned due to a wrong determination from the Referee Martin Atkinson.

Replays in the Television confirmed that there is no bad intention for the South Korea international to injure his opponent. On his part the FA Spokesman confirmed the decision on his official Twitter page.

"Heung-min Son will be available for Tottenham Hotspur FC’s next three domestic fixtures after an independent Regulatory Commission upheld a claim of wrongful dismissal," he tweeted.

"The forward was sent off for serious foul play during the Premier League fixture against Everton FC on Sunday 3 November 2019," the Spokesman added.

Everton confirmed that their midfielder Andre Gomes underwent  successful surgery on his ankle after he suffered an injury against Tottenham on Sunday.

Gomes suffered the horrific ankle injury after being hacked by Son Heung-min and falling awkwardly into Serge Aurier. On their part, the British club confirmed his recovery stating to provide Gomes’s updates.

“Everton Football Club can confirm Andre Gomes underwent surgery to repair a fracture-dislocation to his right ankle earlier today and the procedure went extremely well,” the statement read, according to Everton’s official website. The statement also added that the 26-year-old would stay in the hospital for some time to complete his recovery.
