President Abdel Fattah El Sisi visited the football national team participating in AFCON 2019 Saturday morning, Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady said.
Rady added that Sisi was convened with the squad taking part in the African Cup of Nations. AFCON 2019 is hosted by Egypt.
Sisi wished the national team a good luck and expressed his trust in the 23-man squad along with their coach and admins.
“The president called on all the players to exert their best efforts to make Egyptians happy,” the spokesperson manifested.
In addition, Sisi stressed that all the national squad members should behalf in a good manner. “You are representing Egypt and its people,” he addressed the players.

On their part, the players thanked Sisi for his support and promised him to meet the Egyptians’ aspirations.
Later on, President Sisi toured the Air Defense Stadium which will host a number of the African tournament’s games.
Egypt are in Group A, which is the toughest based on FIFA rankings. They will face the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and Zimbabwe in the group stage, and even if they win their group, they could end up with a tricky match against South Africa in the last 16.
Salah Joined the camp
Egypt are set to take on Naby Keita’s Guinea in their final friendly test ahead of the 2019 AFCON on Sunday. They won their first friendly against Tanzania thanks to an Ahmed Elmohamady goal.
Although, the Egyptian National Team have started their camp, Liverpool’s winger Mohamed Salah has just featured in the training camp this morning.
Egypt National Team director Ihab Leheta revealed that Salah was taking the needed rest before arriving at the Camp.
Mo-Salah won his historic UEFA Champions League title in Madrid on the 1st of June.
Besides, Mohamed Elneny has just arrived to the training camp too. and he has been undergoing additional exercises to raise his fitness level.
