Sisi: security, stability of Yemen are of great importance to the Egyptian national security

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today, Wednesday, with Rashad Al-Alimi, chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, on the sidelines of his participation in the Arab Summit in Algeria.

Ambassador Bassam Radi, official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, said that President El-Sisi stressed the strength of the historical relations that bring together the two countries, government and people, and the Egyptian firm position towards supporting the unity and sovereignty of the Yemeni state and the safety of its national institutions.

The president also stressed Egypt's readiness to support the security and stability of Yemen, as they represent great importance to Egyptian national security, within the framework of the security of the Arab region and the Red Sea region. He pointed out to the need to continue efforts aiming to renew the armistice in Yemen in a way that paves the way for reaching a permanent ceasefire and paves the way for political settlement efforts, for ensuring the unity and integrity of Yemeni territories. 

on his part,  Rashad Al-Alami expressed appreciation for Egypt's supportive stances for the security and stability of Yemen and the regional environment as a whole, reviewing the developments in his country, the government's efforts to restore peace and stability, and the challenges facing the Yemeni people as a result of the deteriorating humanitarian situation.
