President Abdel-Fattah El Sisi held a meeting Thursday with several Egyptian businessmen taking part in the “A Decent Life" initiative.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and Mr. Abbas Kamel, Chief of General Intelligence attended the meeting, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
Deputy Speaker Mohamed Abou El Enein took part in the meeting which discussed the most important objectives of the national project to develop Egyptian rural villages within the framework of the “A Decent Life" initiative.
It comes under the umbrella of implementing Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The President expressed his appreciation to the businessmen present for their contributions and societal efforts in the “A Decent Life” project within the framework of achieving economic and social development in Egypt.
The initiative aims to modernize all aspects of life for 4584 villages in all governorates, comprising 58 percent of the total population of Egypt, at a cost of nearly LE 700 billion. It focuses on upgrading the social, health, educational, economic, housing, and all service sectors for those villages, as well as eliminating multi-dimensional poverty.
It also seeks to improve the Egyptian human being in the comprehensive concept, in cooperation and coordination between all specialized agencies in the state, in a way that integrates with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Sisi pointed out that the project to develop Egyptian rural villages is deemed as the largest integrated development project in Egypt’s modern history.
He noted that this project would represent a major qualitative leap for Egypt and open up prospects for relying on local production requirements, and then developing the industrial and business sector, which is considered the developmental future of Egypt.
