Sisi to Take Part in 'A Decent Life' 1st Conference

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will take part in the celebration of the official launch of "A Decent Life" initiative for the development of rural Egyptian villages today, Thursday, at Cairo International Stadium in Nasr City.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and other officials will attend the event, along with nearly 25 thousand Egyptians representing all the governorates, in addition to a number of public figures, media professionals, businessmen and Egyptian, regional and international institutions.'A Decent Life' Ensures Social Integration, Volunteering

This initiative was launched by Sisi on January 2, 2019 to improve the standard of living and quality of life for the neediest sects in rural communities in Egypt, and to contribute to raising the level of daily services provided to citizens.

'A Decent Life' initiative seeks to unify efforts among all state institutions in cooperation with civil society, private sector companies and development partners in Egypt and abroad in the file of sustainable development. It also aims to eliminate multidimensional poverty especially the neediest families in the villages and targeted centers.

There are 4,658 villages with investments estimated at LE 700 billion that contribute to improving the lives of more than half of Egypt’s population, by setting an integrated development roadmap that harmonizes its goals and axes with the sustainable development goals of the United Nations; it provides an integrated package of services including decent housing, health, Education, culture, infrastructure, a clean environment and productive societies to ensure sustainable development in the targeted villages and centers.

Its objectives are to raise the economic, social and environmental level of needy families in poor villages, enable them to obtain all basic services, provide job opportunities, maximize their productive capacities, to contribute to achieving a decent life for them, organize civil society and enhance cooperation between it and all state institutions.

Moreover, 'A Decent Life' initiative focuses on investing in people, as well as encouraging the participation of local communities in raising the value of the nation.
