Sisi Reviews Technology-related Projects Nationwide

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met today, Monday, with the Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Amr Talaat, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, to discuss the development of various national projects in the technology and information sector.

"The meeting tackled following up on national projects in the communications and information technology sectors within the framework of the ministry’s plans to take part in the state’s efforts to build the Egyptian person and to contribute to the government’s plan for digital transformation, as well as maximizing the state’s capabilities and supporting efforts to advance development in Egypt," said Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

In this context, Sisi asked to continue developing the communications and information technology sector and its infrastructure as it is one the pillars of economic and social growth in the country, in addition to its important role in providing the best services to citizens.

Sisi also called for enhancing investment in human cadres, providing training and rehabilitation programs, and building the necessary capabilities to use the best means of modern technology and provide various services electronically, in line with the modern requirements of the labor market.

On his part, Talaat presented during the meeting the executive positions of a number of projects in the communications and information technology sector with the aim of strengthening the axis of building the Egyptian person, which included the progress of the study process at the "Misr Informatics University" and the grants offered in this framework to high school graduates to join it, as well as the project to establish a knowledge city in the New Administrative Capital.

As part of the government’s efforts to digital transformation, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology previewed the developments of implementing the “Digital Egypt” initiative, which aims to support government performance by providing the latest digital services to citizens nationwide.
