Sisi Reviews Agricultural Projects Updates Nationwide

According to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi followed up on the executive positions of various national projects in the food security and agriculture sectors nationwide on Saturday.

The discussions were attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aty, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Ali El-Moselhy, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Sayed El-Qusair, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Mrs. Nevin Gamea, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Major General Walid Abu Al-Majd, Director General of the National Service Projects Authority for the Armed Forces.

In this context, Sisi was briefed on the executive position of the Food Industries Complex “Qaha and Edfina”. This complex is located in Sadat City on an area of ​​120 acres, and at an investment cost of about LE 5.5 billion, in a partnership between the Holding Company for Food Industries and the National Service Projects Organization.

This complex includes nine factories for canned food and freezers of all different types.

 

 

Sisi urged the concerned authorities to press the timetable for the implementation of the project and to develop an integrated plan to operate its production lines in accordance with the latest systems, standards, and international specifications for food processing. He called for meeting local needs as well as exporting, taking into account the huge qualitative leap that this project will represent in  completing the City of Food Industries in Sadat City, which includes a chain of food factories, including the “Silo Foods” industry complex.

The meeting also witnessed a presentation of the position of olive cultivation in Egypt, including the total production and volume of export over the past years, as well as the most important.
