President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call, on Sunday, from Iraqi Prime Minister (PM) Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani.
Mohamed El-Shennawy, official presidential spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that the call touched upon the latest regional developments.
During the conversation, Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's full support for Iraq's sovereignty, security, and stability.
He emphasized that Egypt stands firmly by the Iraqi government in its efforts to spare Iraq any regional conflicts that might threaten its stability.
Furthermore, the President reiterated Egypt's steadfast position in rejecting and condemning any aggression against Iraq or any Arab state, or any infringement upon its sovereignty and security.
The official spokesperson added that the President and the Iraqi Prime Minister also discussed ways to strengthen joint Arab coordination to ensure the protection of Arab national security, safeguard sovereignty, and confront various challenges.
In this context, the Iraqi Prime Minister reviewed the efforts exerted by his government to contain the current tensions.
He expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt's commitment to supporting Iraq during this critical stage, and for the Egyptian stance advocating for the security and stability of Iraq and all Arab nations.
