President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts to host a comprehensive conference bringing together southern Yemeni components for dialogue, stressing the importance of political solutions to regional crises.
President El-Sisi received Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Cairo, in the presence of Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and senior Saudi officials. During the meeting, the Egyptian president welcomed the Saudi minister and asked him to convey his greetings to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Mohammed bin Salman.
El-Sisi commended the Saudi leadership’s role in advancing development and stability in the Kingdom and reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Saudi Arabia across various fields. He also underlined the importance of intensifying coordination between Cairo and Riyadh on regional issues and ongoing crises.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan conveyed the greetings and appreciation of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to President El-Sisi, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s keenness to further deepen its strategic relations with Egypt and maintain close political consultation between the two countries.
The talks addressed key regional developments, with both sides reaffirming their shared position on the need for peaceful solutions that preserve the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of states, particularly in Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, and the Gaza Strip. In this context, President El-Sisi welcomed Saudi Arabia’s initiative to host an inclusive conference aimed at advancing dialogue among southern Yemeni factions as part of efforts to address the southern issue through political means.
