Sisi Praises Egypt's Army Potentials to Maintain Regional Strategic Balance

On Wednesday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting with Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, according to the Presidency spokesman, Bassam Rady.

Lieutenant General Abbas Helmy, Commander of the Egyptian Air Force was also present during the meeting.

In a statement, the spokesman added that the Egyptian president, during the meeting, was briefed on several issues related to the recent activities and preparedness of the main branches of the armed forces, especially the Air Force.

He noted that the president reviewed the outcomes of the Defense Minister's recent visits to a number of Arab and friendly countries within the framework of enhancing joint military cooperation between the Egyptian Armed Forces and their counterparts in those countries, as well as the results of recent joint military drills jointly held with some Arab and foreign armies.

El Sisi praised the pivotal role being played by the Egyptian armed forces in maintaining security, stability and strategic balance in the Middle East region.

He also expressed his gratitude for sacrifices of the armed forces to preserve the security and safety of the Egyptian people.

In this context, the president directed the defense ministry to continue maintaining the highest levels of readiness to protect Egypt's national security in light of the great challenges facing the region.
