Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan warned that any escalation in the region would have repercussions affecting everyone, as they held talks in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
According to Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, President el-Sisi met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed in the UAE capital, where the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and pressing regional developments. During the visit, the leaders toured the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, where President el-Sisi was briefed on the university’s facilities, academic departments, specialised programmes and advanced innovations in artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies that support the UAE’s national objectives in this field.
The two presidents later held a bilateral meeting over a working lunch. President el-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, praising the unprecedented level of coordination, consultation and cooperation between Egypt and the UAE across various sectors, particularly in trade and investment. He reaffirmed Egypt’s openness to receiving additional Emirati investments, stressing that relations between the two countries constitute a cornerstone of Arab national security and regional stability.
For his part, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed President el-Sisi to what he described as his second home, the United Arab Emirates. He underlined the special nature of Egypt–UAE relations and reiterated the UAE’s commitment to pushing bilateral ties with Egypt to broader horizons, especially in the fields of trade and investment.
The talks also covered current regional developments. Both leaders stressed the importance of Arab solidarity at this critical juncture for the Middle East. They discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip, underscoring the need for the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the complete execution of the peace plan proposed by Donald Trump. They also emphasised the importance of ensuring unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, particularly ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, alongside the swift launch of early recovery and reconstruction efforts.
The two presidents reaffirmed their support for advancing a just and comprehensive peace process in the region based on the two-state solution, as a guarantee for lasting peace, security and regional stability.
In this context, President el-Sisi and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stressed the need to continue efforts to resolve regional crises through peaceful means, in a way that preserves the unity and territorial integrity of states and safeguards the resources and interests of their peoples, warning that any escalation in the region would carry consequences that would affect all parties.
