Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron witnessed the signing of several key cooperation agreements between Egypt and France during a ceremony at Al-Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo on Monday. The agreements, signed in the presence of high-level delegations from both countries, reflect a mutual commitment to strengthening strategic ties and enhancing collaboration across priority sectors.
The most notable agreements included cooperation in healthcare, with plans to establish a branch of France’s renowned Gustave Roussy Cancer Center in Cairo. The deal was signed by Egypt’s Minister of Health Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and Professor Fabrice Barlesi, Director of the institute.
In the transportation sector, Egypt and France extended their roadmap for cooperation on Cairo Metro Line 6. The agreement was signed by Egyptian Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir and French officials, reflecting both sides’ commitment to infrastructure development.
The two countries also signed agreements to boost cooperation in higher education and to expand French-language education in Egypt, including a plan to establish 100 new francophone schools.
Other agreements focused on technical and financial collaboration for priority development projects, and joint investment in inclusive and sustainable ventures.
