President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, at Cairo International Airport on Wednesday. President El-Sisi then accompanied his guest to the Presidential Palace.

During the meeting, the two leaders held talks during which the President welcomed his brother, the Jordanian monarch, in his second homeland, Egypt.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the pace of coordination and consultation between the two countries, which reflects the great importance of relations between the two peoples and leaderships. They also explored ways to develop relations and open new horizons to enhance them in various fields in accordance with the special and fraternal relations between them.

Moreover, the talks also covered developments in the regional situation, especially in the Gaza Strip, and the humanitarian tragedy facing the Strip, which has left thousands of dead and wounded, hundreds of thousands of displaced people, as well as widespread destruction to infrastructure and facilities in the Strip.

Furthermore, both leaders stressed their complete rejection of all attempts to liquidate the Palestinian issue, or to displace Palestinians from their lands or internally displace them.

They also stressed that the only solution that the international community should push to implement is an immediate ceasefire, and the delivery of humanitarian assistance in the quantities, sizes, and speed necessary to make a real difference in alleviating the suffering of the people of the Strip, with a serious push towards a political path to a just and comprehensive settlement, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant UN resolutions.

In addition, they stressed that there is a great political and moral responsibility on the shoulders of the international community to implement the decisions of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly, in a way that preserves the credibility of the international system.

Moreover, they stressed the importance of not expanding the circle of conflict, which would destabilize security and stability at the regional and international levels.
