President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Tuesday, Ammar Al-Hakim, head of Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, along with his accompanying delegation.

The meeting was also attended by General Hassan Rashad, head of Egypt’s General Intelligence.

During the meeting, Sisi emphasized the importance of maintaining Iraq's security and stability, affirming Egypt’s readiness to mobilize all necessary resources to support Iraq’s development efforts and fulfill the aspirations of its people.

For his part, Al-Hakim expressed his appreciation for the historic relations between the two countries and their people.

He also praised Egypt’s leading role in preserving regional security and stability while safeguarding the interests of its nations.

Additionally, Iraqi leader acknowledged Egypt’s continuous support for Iraq across various sectors.

Moreover, the discussions also covered regional developments, with both sides stressing the necessity of implementing a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, including phased implementation, the exchange of prisoners and detainees, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the region.

Both parties reaffirmed the importance of launching early recovery efforts and reconstruction in Gaza while rejecting any proposals for the displacement of Palestinians to prevent the elimination of the Palestinian cause and to avoid threats to regional security.

Furthermore, the meeting underscored the need for establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as the only guarantee for achieving lasting peace in the region.
