Sisi Invites Kuwaiti's Emir to Visit Egypt

Kuwaiti New Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah received on Sunday Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said. 

At the outset of the meeting, Shoukry conveyed President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's congratulations to Sheikh Nawaf for becoming the new Kuwaiti Emir, and also handed him over a message, including an official invitation to visit Egypt. 

FM expressed Egypt's aspiration to continue deepening strong ties with Kuwait and enhancing bilateral cooperation in all fields during the next stage, to meet the interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples.

The Egyptian minister also hailed Kuwait's supportive stances towards Egypt in recent years and late Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad's key role in boosting bilateral relations between the two countries. 

On his part, Kuwaiti Emir asked Shoukry to convey his greetings to President Sisi. 

Moreover, Sheikh Nawaf underlined the pivotal role played by Egypt as 'a pillar of security and stability' in the region, stressing Kuwait's support for Egypt's measures to protect its interests and to achieve the desired economic and social development.

He also highlighted the need to continue coordination and consultations between Egypt, Kuwait in the light of their historic and deep relations.

It is worth mentioning that, Shoukry travelled to Kuwait on Saturday to deliver a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to his brother Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Kuwait's new Emir.

During his visit, FM is scheduled to meet with the Crown Prince Mishaal, and the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Sabah, as well as senior Kuwaiti officials.
