President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is expected to inaugurate, on Saturday, "Our Heritage" exhibition for handicrafts, organized by the Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA).

“The establishment of the exhibition comes within the framework of the directives made by President Sisi to provide all means of support for the heritage industries and handicrafts sector,” said Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

Rady added that the president’s directives aim to expand the promotion of these ancient Egyptian arts and make their products available at commercial prices.

He noted that the exhibition is a chance to encourage these handcrafts’ circulation and increase their distinctive production, disclosing that more than 600 manufacturers from different governorates participate in the fair in addition to the private associations' sector.

The free entry exhibition is scheduled to run every day until 15 October from 10 am to 10 pm Cairo local time, at the Egypt Center for International Exhibitions in the Fifth Settlement area of New Cairo.

Nevine Gamea, Minister of Trade and Industry and Chairperson of MSMEDA, said that Sudan is this year’s exhibition guest of honor, while distinct sections have been allocated for Sudanese heritage products made of leather, wood, and minerals.
