Sisi Directs Gov't to Upgrade Electricity Infrastructure in Rural Areas

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi ordered the government on Sunday to upgrade the electricity infrastructure in the rural areas, a key element in development, according to Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.

This came during his meeting with Prime Minster Moustafa Madbouli and Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker.

The meeting aimed at following up the plan of developing the electricity infrastructure, as part of the national project for developing the rural areas and villages.

Sisi also stressed the importance of depending on the local high-quality products in such development process.

The president was also briefed on the progress in implementing electricity projects nationwide, especially from the renewable sources.
