Sisi Describes Tourism as Pillar of Co-op Among Egypt, Greece & Cyprus

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi praised the ongoing collaboration with Greece and Cyprus in the energy sector, describing it as a cornerstone of their shared strategy.

He emphasized that the Egypt-Greece electrical interconnection project represents a significant turning point in fostering regional integration. This initiative will facilitate the exchange of clean energy and contribute effectively to advancing the transition toward a green economy.

Speaking at the trilateral summit held at Al-Ittihadiya Palace, President Sisi highlighted Egypt’s cooperation with Cyprus in natural gas, reflecting a clear vision of its potential successes. 

He expressed aspirations to enhance the role of Egyptian liquefaction plants in re-exporting gas to European markets, noting the vast capabilities of Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus in securing energy supplies for Europe.

Sisi also stressed that the partnership among the three nations extends to cultural and educational relations, underscoring their historical and human connections.He called for the development of joint projects in higher education, scientific research, and the arts, which would foster a culture of mutual understanding.

Additionally, he pointed to tourism as a key pillar of economic cooperation. President Sisi highlighted the rich and remarkable tourism resources of the three nations, advocating for joint promotion of tourist destinations and enhanced cultural and eco-tourism initiatives, which would yield significant benefits for their peoples and boost mutual tourism flows.

In closing, Sisi warmly welcomed Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Egypt, reaffirming the importance of continuing the deep collaboration among the three countries.

He emphasized the commitment to working together to achieve the prosperity of their peoples and strengthen cooperation across all sectors.
