Sisi, Conte Tackle Ways to Restore Libya's Stability: Radi

CAIRO, Nov. 13 (SEE)- President Abdel Fatah El Sisi stressed Tuesday Egypt's steadfast stance regarding the need to reach a comprehensive political settlement in Libya supported by the United Nations.

"It should be based on implementing the Libyan political agreement in a way that protects the country's unity and regional safety and restores the role of the national state institutions, mainly the national army, the Parliament and the government," Sisi during a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in Palermo.

"Sisi and Conte discussed ways to enhance economic, trade and investment relations between Egypt and Italy particularly in light of the ongoing national projects in the North African country, mainly the Suez Canal corridor development project, upgrade harbors and logistics services,” Presidency Spokesman Bassam Radi said.

"Conte expressed Italy's appreciation of Egypt's active role to restore stability and security and support the national military institution in Libya," Radi added.

Moreover, The Italian prime minister asserted his country's keenness on promoting cooperation with Egypt particularly in light of the positive developments in the Egyptian economy.
