Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is set to chair the emergency Arab summit on the Palestinian issue shortly.
The summit, taking place in Cairo today (Tuesday), will focus on developments in Palestine, early recovery plans, and the reconstruction of Gaza, amid the latest developments in the region.
Arab leaders began arriving in Cairo on Monday to participate in the summit, following widespread Arab and international rejection of U.S. President Donald Trump's proposals regarding the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza. Additionally, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks about the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state within Saudi Arabia have been met with strong criticism.
Since January 25, Trump has been advocating for a plan to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries such as Egypt and Jordan. However, both nations have firmly rejected the proposal, with several other Arab states and international organizations joining in opposition.
