Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call with King Abdullah II of Jordan, during which both leaders reaffirmed their unwavering rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land forcibly.

According to the spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, Mohamed El Shenwai, President Sisi reiterated Egypt’s full solidarity with Jordan and its unwavering support in confronting all forms of terrorism and extremist groups that threaten the kingdom’s security and stability.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation to achieve the aspirations of both nations for a peaceful and secure future.

King Abdullah II deeply appreciated Egypt’s steadfast support and praised the historic and brotherly ties that unite the two countries.

The spokesman added that the call also addressed the current situation in Palestine, with both leaders discussing efforts to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid. They also reviewed developments in the West Bank and jointly stressed their categorical rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their lands.

Both leaders underscored that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, based on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, remains the only viable path to achieving lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.

The two heads of state also discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest, with the aim of enhancing the strategic partnership between Egypt and Jordan.
