President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League.

Official Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that the meeting focused on the latest developments in regional crises, particularly the situation in Gaza and the West Bank.

Discussions highlighted the ongoing efforts by Egypt and Qatar to broker a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, while emphasizing the pursuit of a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue. This includes the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy, the protection of Palestinian rights, and the prevention of displacement or undermining of their just cause.

The meeting also addressed recent developments in Syria and Libya, as well as the ongoing crisis in Sudan and the efforts aimed at restoring security and stability there.

Furthermore, the talks covered security and political conditions in the Horn of Africa and the strategic importance of Red Sea security.

Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Arab League, driven by its deep belief in the League's central role in promoting joint Arab action and fostering unity in the face of complex and unprecedented regional challenges.

For his part, Secretary-General Aboul Gheit praised Egypt's wise and balanced positions, which contribute significantly to restoring security and stability across the Middle East, especially through its steadfast support for a just and final resolution to the Palestinian cause, seen as the only path to achieving lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.
