President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan discussed means to promote joint cooperation and tackled issues of common interest, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

"The Sisi-Abdullah II's discussions took place during a phone conversation on Monday," Rady said.

The spokesman added that the two leaders discussed means to promote joint cooperation and bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries. They also discussed the most recent regional and international issues.

In this regard, they agreed to continue coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest, within the distinguished strategic relations between the two countries.

Earlier, Sisi was reassured about the health condition of his brother, the King of Jordan, after the success of the surgery he had recently performed.

During a phone call last week, congratulated King Abdullah II on the successful surgery and wished him continued good health and wellbeing.

"The Jordanian monarch received surgery at a specialist hospital in Frankfurt, Germany, after suffering a “herniated disc,” the palace said. The king’s pain increased in recent weeks, requiring “urgent” surgery.

Abdullah II is suffering from a “thoracic herniated disc,” according to a statement from Jordan’s Royal Hashemite Court.
