Universal Pictures and Illumination revealed Wednesday the final trailer for the next chapter in its smash-hit animated franchise “Sing 2”, the follow-up to the blockbuster 2016 animated movie.
The footage features the characters traveling to Redshore City, the entertainment capital of the world.
It also showed Johnny (voiced by Taron Egerton) struggling to work with his dance choreographer Klaus Kickenklober (voiced by Adam Buxton) as well as the difficulties Porsha Crystal (voiced by Halsey) faces with acting, which is needed for her upcoming performance.
“Sing 2” also features Scarlett Johansson, Tori Kelly, Nick Kroll, Bobby Cannavale, Bono, Pharrell Williams, Letitia Wright, Eric Andre, and Chelsea Peretti.
The plot revolves around the gang convincing a reclusive rock star lion, Clay Calloway (voiced by Bono), to make a comeback and star in a new stage show.
It is written and directed by Garth Jennings, the creators of the first movie. The movie is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and by Janet Healy.
“Sing 2” hits theaters on December 22.
