Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received a phone call, today, Sunday, from his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan,  about the ongoing war in Gaza.

The official spokesman for the Foreign Ministry explained that the discussions between the two ministers focused on the efforts and movements aimed at implementing an immediate humanitarian truce and ceasefire to protect civilians in Gaza, and delivering the necessary humanitarian and relief aid to the people of the Strip, as the two ministers stressed the inevitability of ending this tragic situation to which the people of Gaza are exposed, and working on providing all forms of support to alleviate the human suffering of the Palestinian people.

Abu Zeid added that the two ministers exchanged views on coordinating international efforts in various international forums in order to stop the attacks on the Palestinian people.

They also discussed the security and humanitarian repercussions of the Israeli military attacks, and their effects on regional and international peace and security, stressing the need to prevent a growing circle of violence and prevent the spread of conflict to other areas in the region.
