Shoukry to Meet U.S. Senator, UN Envoy to Syria Thursday

On Thursday, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is set to hold talks with Senator Robert Menendez, Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who is on a visit to Cairo.

The meeting is scheduled to address Egyptian-American relations, in addition to regional and international issues of common concern.

In addition, Shoukry will receive the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Mr. Geir O. Pedersen, tomorrow in Cairo.

On Monday, Shoukry had talks with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto during his visit along with President Sisi.

The spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez tweeted that the two ministers discussed different ways of boosting bilateral cooperation, with a special focus on the economic field and energy file.

Shoukry and Szijjarto also tackled several regional and international issues and mechanisms for maintaining coordination between the two countries said Hafez.
