CAIRO, Nov.11 (SEE)- Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met Sunday with his Bahraini counterpart His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at the outset of Shoukry's visit to Manama. Shoukry will chair the 10th session of the Joint Egyptian-Bahraini Commission at the level of the two countries’ Foreign Ministers.
"At the beginning of the meeting, Shoukry expressed to HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman that the Egyptian government and people highly value the wise stances and policies of the Kingdom of Bahrain to support the path of Arab solidarity and joint action," said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Counselor Ahmed Hafez
Shoukry also asserted Egypt's appreciation of its close fraternal and distinguished relations with sisterly Bahrain at all fronts, and the high levels reached under the insightful leadership of President Abdel Fatah El Sisi and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
"Shoukry assured the Bahraini Prime Minister of Egypt's keenness on pushing forward with the bilateral relations’ path towards wider horizons in all fields. In addition, he expressed his aspiration that the Joint Commission will yield concrete results that will add momentum to the prospects of bilateral relations, and serve the common Arab goals and objectives as well, so as to fulfill the two brotherly peoples’ ambitions and aspirations," Hafez noted.
Shoukry also affirmed Egypt's commitment to the security and stability of the Gulf, being an integral part of Egypt's national security, while rejecting and facing any external interference.
For his part, the Bahraini prime minister stressed the keenness of Manama's leadership to intensify consultation and coordination mechanisms with Egypt in order to develop bilateral relations on the one hand, and on the overall regional issues of common interest to meet the challenges in the region.
