Shoukry Meets Pakistani Minister of Climate Change in Islamabad Today

Egypt's Minister of Foreign  Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, President-designate of the 27th session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, met today, Monday,   in Islamabad,  the capital city of Pakistan with  Zertaj Gul Wazir,  Pakistani Minister of State for Climate Change ", during the last leg of his current Asian tour.

Ambassador Ahmed Hafez, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the Egyptian visiting minister exchanged during the meeting visions and views on a number of issues related to climate change, which represent a priority for the two countries.

They also discussed adaptation to climate change and its negative repercussions, providing climate financing for developing countries, as well as efforts to reduce climate change emissions, and countries promoting their nationally determined contributions.

Hafez also added that the Egyptian-Pakistani sides also discussed ways to enhance coordination in the field of climate change during the coming period, taking into account Pakistan's current presidency of the Group of 77, the largest gathering of developing countries within the framework of the United Nations  (UN) system, and Egypt's hosting and future presidency of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention United Nations Framework for Climate Change COP27.
