Shoukry, Japanese counterpart discuss bilateral relations

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received a phone call from his Japanese counterpart Motegi Toshimitsu, in which the two sides discussed ways to develop cooperation relations between Egypt and Japan in many fields, as well as the latest developments at the regional and international levels.

Ambassador Ahmed Hafez, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Toshimitsu expressed appreciation for Egypt’s role in Palestinian cause, praising its recent continuous efforts in this regard.

For his part,  Shoukry reviewed the Egyptian steps and contacts in this regard, as well as the file of reconstruction and support for development efforts in the rest of the Palestinian territories.

He also pointed out to the need for urgent action to revive the political track through serious negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.

The Spokesman added that the talks also included discussions on ways to enhance bilateral relations, within the framework of the distinguished relations that bring together Egypt and Japan. They also agreed to continue consultation during the next stage regarding bilateral and regional files and issues of common interest. .
