Shoukry Heads to Bonn for COP27 Preparations

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, President-designate of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), headed to Bonn, Germany, to take part in the 56th session of the meetings of the subsidiary bodies of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

"Shoukry is scheduled to sign, on the sidelines of his participation in the meetings, the agreement for Egypt to host the 27th session of the Conference of Parties (COP27) to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh next November," said Ahmed Hafez, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Hafez added that "The Minister of Foreign Affairs will also meet with a number of senior officials from various countries and parties concerned with international climate action, as well as representatives of various geographical groups, as well as representatives of civil society circles accredited to the Convention.
